The first BNA Bank Cotton States Baseball League players of the week for 2010 have been named.  The Player of the Week is Demarcus Rieves, an infielder with the Tupelo Thunder, and the Pitcher of the Week is Matt Davis, a left-hander with the GT Jets. 

Rieves, a Southern University signee from Crawford, MS, hit .400 over three games.  The Coahoma CC alum and JUCO All-State 1st-Team selection hammered the league's first home run of the 2010 season and drove in 5 runs to pace Tupelo in week one.

Davis, who prepped at Tishomingo County HS, hurled six sparkling innings for the 3-0 Jets in two appearances, getting a win and a save for his efforts.  The Northeast Mississippi CC rising sophomore did not walk a batter as he struck out ten and allowed only three hits in the Jets 3-2 win against the Thunder on June 3 and their 10-7 victory over the Tribe last night.
